What an intriguing solution – I finally made it over to 37Signals to check out their Basecamp product. After having heard quite a bit of buzz about the company and its efforts in simple easy to use solutions, I had to check it out myself.
While checking out the Basecamp site information, I bit and signed up for the free account to try out the service. My wife and I will run our upcoming home purchase as a project in Basecamp, and in the process, I will write a review both for the blog here, and for my department at work. The group I work with is really in need of a simple project managment application that is affordable, secure, and flexible – Basecamp appears to do this well.
So look back here later in the coming months, I’ll post bits & pieces as I find how Basecamp either helps or hinders our home buying process!

Yes its true. I’m not on the Operations side of IT, haven’t been for years, but every once and awhile, I get to do some work on that portion – especially when its “my” systems (technically, I’m the “owner”). So I’ll be up and in the office at a bright and early (and cold) 6am tomorrow.
What am I doing? VPN is all I’ll say.

Well,
We spent the 1st half of the day in a departmental meeting at work, brought all the remote staff in and went over the usual departmental items for the quarter. Boring. Sometimes I wonder if the information presented at meetings like this is worthwhile. At any rate, there goes 4 hours that I’ll never get back.

Well, vacation is over and I’m back at work. We’ve lots to do, projects taking up a lot of time so I’ve not posted the last day or so. Hopefully I’ll have a few minutes to go over some news and highlights before too long.
