Interesting, I was wondering when Microsoft would include the recently purchased technologies of WinInternals/SysInternals into the Windows product.
Looks like the new “Windows RE Notes” blog details the upcoming components, though there is only an introductory post at this time. Based on Windows PE, Windows RE will provide a recovery environment for Windows installations that have gone sour.
Neat stuff, and if this is based on some WinInternals technology, I wouldn’t be surprised. This will be an awesome tool for system administrators and others who support desktop and server OS installations. Check out at the link below.
Have you been waiting for a chance to try out Windows Vista? Missed out on the Beta 2 download? Well, now’s your chance!
Microsoft has opened up the Customer Preview Program for anyone to download and test Vista. If you participated in the Windows XP CPP many years ago, this is the same program.
The download is huge, and MSFN has some more information at the link below.
I thought that I would drop a quick post over lunch. I’m down in the lobby of the office, kicking back with some Damn Yankees.
Had to get away from the desk for a little bit if you know what I mean. 😉 Putting my phone through it’s paces reading news, posting, and listening to tunes. Kind of fun when it all works.
So I’m back in the office for the first time in two weeks! Time to catch up on all those emails and vmails – fun. 🙁
One thing for sure, being back does indeed make one think more about what we do and how we impact each other. During my absence, we lost our COO to cancer. JD was a great curmudgeon with an anecdote for any occasion. He will be missed.
Hard to belie its been 20 years since graduation! Recently, one of my classmates tracked me down with an invitation to our 20th anniversary of our high school graduation.
While I won’t be able to make it, I want to say hi to everyone in our class from 1986! Also a hello to everyone in Spring Valley, WI (see Google Map), and a thank-you to Shelly for getting the invitation to me.
