Where Do Social Media Pros Come From

Posted on Jun 15, 2009 in blog, professional, skills, social media, video blogs

So where do social media professionals come from? Where does any real professional that really knows there stuff come from? Is there some school that generates these professional people that have experience in so many things, been challenged in multiple ways allowing them to really get the big picture and think about things that most won’t consider? What creates a professional in any industry? How does this come about? Well to be sure, folks who you find in social media are coming from all sorts of backgrounds. While “traditionally” you’ll find folks from marketing...

In the Mogulus Beta

Posted on Jul 6, 2007 in blog, service, video blogs

So I just received my invitation to Mogulus, and it’ll have to wait until I get back home to really give it a try.  Mogulus is a live broadcasting service that has many professional-style editing, cueing and mixing features.  It also allows for a selecting of live feeds rather than only one feed.  This lets you change to a remote video feed and be able to create a much more polished show. A clever person or group of people could actually create a rather good news program dedicated to specific topics.  Interesting stuff – more later. Technorati tags: Mogulus,...

iPhone Launch TV – Mogulus

Posted on Jun 29, 2007 in blog, service, video blogs

Yeah, so I get an email this morning announcing Mogulus-hosted coverage of the iPhone launch.  So, being interested in Mogulus, I click the link, the page loads and…. Well Mogulus, here is your first problem.  My interest in this link was two-fold, I wanted to see a little bit of the carnage of the Apple iPhone launch, but I was more interested in how your service looks. Ustream.tv, Embedded Video and RSS Feeds

Posted on Jun 23, 2007 in blog, video blogs

Really frustrated that the embedded video posts I’ve used Ustream.tv to record don’t seem to show up in my RSS feed.  Videos posted from either Google’s YouTube or Microsoft’s Soapbox work fine!?!? I use Feedburner to handle my RSS feed from my WordPress blog – anyone else run across this? Technorati tags: Embedded Video, RSS Video, MSN Soapbox,...

Making the most of WebcamMax

Posted on Jun 22, 2007 in blog, software, video blogs

A video blog post about using WebcamMax. Let me know if this video does not show in your RSS feed!  I’m really interested in figuring that out. UPDATE: Of course turning on my microphone would have been a great idea. UPDATE II: I must have really been tired when I finally posted… I had my headphones plugged in when I recorded and didn’t realize it. So, I thought I didn’t have sound on the vid – figured out my confusion in the morning… Ugh! Kinda funny though! Technorati tags: WebcamMax, Personal...

Of Root Beer and Video Blogging

Posted on Jun 13, 2007 in blog, video blogs

So I was broadcasting live on blogTV tonight, not doing much but browsing and reading.  I happened to strike up a conversation with John Leeke about root beer.  Interesting talk, and I wish I had the foresight at the time to record that portion of the broadcast.  This is one aspect of personal broadcasting that really brings back the feeling of community.  Kind of like sitting on your front porch and talking to neighbors as they walk by.
