Looking for 4 Firefox plug-in updates
My migration to Firefox 3 has been fairly painless. I specifically put off trying out most all the beta versions until the last release candidate. Since I’d embraced the plug-in feature of Firefox and installed upwards of two dozen of these spiffy enhancements to a great browser I knew a few (or many) would [...]
On the Firefox 3 Final Version
Yep, upgraded to the final version yesterday. Pretty happy that I did. Performance is noticeably improved, memory usage improved, and several dozen plugins where upgraded yesterday in sync with the new release.
You can find the download for Firefox 3 here. Good stuff!
Migrated to Firefox 3… finally
I’ve finally made the switch to Firefox 3 (RC3). While previous betas and release candidates didn’t feel quite finished, this one sure does. From the talk around the ‘net about it, it sounds like this may be the last RC before going gold. Yeah, I still have a number of plug-ins that are not [...]
Cross-platform ramblings
I was just thinking about the promise of Java some 15 years ago or so (I forget exactly) about being the answer to cross-platform programming. For sure it’s done quite a bit of that, and also been a pain in the but at the same time.
Now fast-forward to 2007 and the development of [...]
WordPress 2.5 Upgrade
Well I just upgrade my WordPress install to version 2.5. Everything seems to be working as intended, so I’m not too worried about it. After several upgrades, I’ve figured out the best method for me.
Back up the database, and the WP-specific folders
Inventory my plugins and verify that they are compatible with the new version
Disable [...]
Bye, Bye Microsoft Outlook
It’s time has come, or passed rather… at least for me. I’m sure I’ll cross paths with my favorite email client and PIM in the future. I’ll either have a change of heart (unlikely) or a future client will insist that I use it for internal email at their location (very likely).
For all those [...]
Life-hacking the T-Mobile MDA
So for all you T-Mobile owners out there, I’ve found a few fun ways to give your device a new lease on life. It’s true that we are all getting tired of the lack of 3G service by T-Mobile, or maybe the “long in the tooth” look & feel of Windows Mobile 5 and [...]
Outlook on syncing with Google: Excellent
It seems that Google itself has released a useful little utility that will sync your Microsoft Outlook Calendar with your Google Calendar. No, I don’t think hell has frozen over, but it’s gotta be colder there anyway.
You can read more on the utility over at Google’s “Calendar Help Center“. Or you can skip [...]
Updated theme elements here on the blog
Hi all!
Just a quick post to mention the updated “post footer” changes that I came up with. Since adding a few additional services here on my blog, I’ve disliked how messy and unorganized the bottom of each post had become. So today, I set out to tidy it up a bit and make it [...]
The one thing holding me to Microsoft Outlook
I’ve come to the conclusion that there is only one feature in Outlook that is holding me to it at the moment. Can you help convince me that it’s time to drop Outlook?
See, I’ve been a longtime user and proponent of Microsoft software. It’s actually really good software, and a decent value… for the [...]
