Rick, I never click from a list of links either. Just not enough to get my interest going. Not just yours - it's anywhere!

I'd follow a link you mentioned in Twitter, and I'll explore some from StumbleUpon, based on a friend's recommendation. I haven't tried the other services yet.

Actually now I think about it I'm mainly going new places from Twitter, because they just come one at a time rather than all in a bundle which can be too much, esp if you're already in the middle of reading a whole lot of feeds.

Thanks for the feedback Chris! I'm seriously thinking of dropping them - in fact, I'll not be posting another unless I get some crazy-enormous requests for them.

Awhile back, I thought it would be a great way to share things that I thought were interesting, and that's been done much better by all sorts of services. Nice to see I'm not out of touch on this - maybe I was for keeping them so long?

Regards,
Rick

[...] Rick Mahn has a good post today about link posts - you know those posts that show up in your reader that consist of nothing but links with maybe a few obligatory words that you are suppose to use to decipher what the link is all about. [...]

Personally I don't pay much attention to lists of links.... that may just be me mind you.

I prefer hearing the story behind them.

It's good to question these things.
