Happiness LXXX

I’ve been posting these short ‘Happiness’ posts for several months.  Not quite a daily posting (though I try!), but frequently.  This happens to be the 80th Happiness post and I thought I’d mention why I choose to use Roman numerals in each title: because I like them and thought they went well with the post title.

Also for this post I wanted to simply ask you what makes you happy.  I had lunch with a good friend last Friday, and he asked “what’s up with these Happiness posts?”  My answer was that I just wanted to write about whatever happens to be making me happy at that moment.

What inspires you? What brighten’s your day/week?  What is making you happy today?

Leave a comment, send an email, link a video or audio response.  Have fun.

  • Just stumbled across your blog, and really like it!
I think your writing's real, original, and quite refreshing.
As for happiness, I'm inspired whenever I remember these three words from Dr. Wayne Dyer: simpify, simplify, simplify.
Also, having time to read (and listen to) the books I love really makes my day/week/month...
Today? well I'm just feeling good for no apparent reasons.
  • Bacon!
  • Rick, I don't think there's anything silly about what you write at all. There's a lot of thought that goes into your posts, and you're willing to try and stretch the limits of our current thinking. And as for the happiness posts - well, like I say, I don't think most people would come close.

Keep enjoying your writing - and we'll keep enjoying reading it :-)

  • Todd, same here cuz. Best wishes for this Thanksgiving!

    Joanna,
Thank you! Most of the time I feel silly for the things I post, and most of the time they are. But I'm finding the effort rewarding. A year ago if a friend would have asked me "what's up with these posts..." I would have been embarrassed by my efforts and felt that they weren't worth anyone's attention. Today, I'm less worried about these things and am simply enjoying whatever I do.

  • Other people's writing makes me happy :-)

I love these happiness posts. I love the fact that other people quote the words of others, whereas you come up with your own - pithy, original, thought-provoking, smile-making.

I'm still trying to work out what you should do with them - I'm sure there's something amazing - just can't quite work out what. But it's a rare talent you have, that's for sure.

Happiness is catching up with family and friends (hope all is well Rick).
