I won't argue about social media in business - it will have it's place, just at this time it solves little business need outside marketing. Guess the key is that, as with other technologies, business will find where it fits into the needs of a given company, and as the Gen-Y crowd moves more into traditional business it'll find it's "groove". I like how you describe what could possibly be a bubble as an "adjustment" - that is probably a better description. I like how you describe what could possibly be a bubble as an “adjustment” – that is probably a better description. It surely won’t be as nasty as the last bubble for a number of reasons, but will bring new opportunities.

I am also not sure if I agree that social media doesn't belong in the enterprise. It absolutely belongs there ... and I can tell you that people who 2 years ago would have said "Huh?" are now saying "Hmmm." It's very possible that an adjustment is looming, but I wouldn't expect it to be as gnarly as the last. The one that would be a lot worse is the dollar's collapse, so let's just cross fingers!
