NetVibes vs. PageFlakes I

After finally checking out PageFlakes and comparing to NetVibes, I just prefer NetVibes.  It seems that there are more widgets to add to a page, and they seem more flexible.  Adding my custom hosted GMail account was easier on NV than PF for example.

    Rick,

No apology necessary. I was just frustrated yesterday when I couldn't get it set up. I found the widget, installed it, configured it with my hosted gmail email address and password. It works, to a certain degree. Netvibes will show new messages on my home Netvibes page. However, I still have to login to my google hosted account. Since I provided the email address/password, I was expecting to click the email message and have the message open, without me having to go through the steps of logging in.
  • Deborah,
Wow, I have to apologize - I haven't used PageFlakes or NetVibes for at least 10 months. I believe there was a GMail Widget that I added to the page and simply plugged in the username/password.

    Regards,
    Rick

Just found your site as I was looking for how to set up my hosted gmail in netvibes. How did you do it?

It seems like there are a ton of these out there -- Igoogle is nice because you can implement google apps which are getting more and more useful. I'm interested in Google for business, in which businesses can make there own Igoogle for employees and they can share information and resources. It seems to be going over web 2.0.. maybe web 2.1? :) I currently use http://www.browserstart.org which functions similarly to netvibes and pageflakes.

My other question is, where is the monetization for these sites? RSS feeds don't pay and there doesn't seem to be ads on any of these sites. Just curious. Any ideas?
