I wrote a Greasemonkey script that you might find interesting.

It adds a &quot;Mouse Mode&quot; to Google Reader that, when on, lets you navigate through your feeds and take certain actions on items with just your mouse buttons. (left click = next item, right click = prev item, middle click = open in tab/star/share)
