The i-Mate JAQ – Mobile Gadget News

The mobile news this week is fantastic! This time its about iMate and their new JAQ Pocket PC Phone that could be a Moto Q killer!
In a surprise move (at least to me), HTC is not building this device for iMate. It seems that iMate has contracted with another OEM to build a [...]

Scobleizer – Tech Geek Blogger » Is Microsoft really the largest blog vendor?

Robert has another great discussion going on his blog. Seems that a Windows Live team member was bragging a bit.
Yesterday someone who works on the Windows Live team was taunting me with “influentials don’t matter, we got to be #1 and we don’t care that there aren’t any influential bloggers using our stuff.”
Boy, this [...]

Feel like blogging

I’m not going to say that I’m back into the blogging grove, but something happened when I got home tonight.  Just seemed like the right time to pound through some posts.
I don’t know how many I’ve written tonight for both sites, but I’ve got a good rhythm going so I’ll try to get some items [...]

Quad-core is On the Way – CrunchGear

Ok, I’m in for quad-core chips as well!  My only question is one of software licensing though.  If I remember Microsoft’s OS licensing correctly, XP will recognize up to 2 processors, Server Standard supports 4, Enterprise supports up to 16, and on and on.
Am I remembering correctly or will the shipping version of XP (and presumably Vista) [...]

NSA’s warrantless wiretapping program halted by judge – The Wireless Report

I’ve just got to pipe up on this one.  From what I understand of the laws and constitution, this is fully within the realm of the government’s ability and responsibility.  To fully protect the citizens of the United States, this activity by the NSA is well within the limits of constitutional law.
The simple point I have with [...]

Engadget has the good stuff today!
Check this out, the HTC Excalibur is being approved for distribution in the US. This QWERTY equipped Smartphone with landscape QVGA screen is built by HTC, the same company responsible for the HTC Wizard and other fantastic Pocket PC & Smartphone designs.
Rumored to be a Moto Q killer, the [...]

Verizon releasing 8700 with GSM support? – Engadget Mobile

Very interesting – if this article from Engadget Mobile (link below) is true, then Verizon customers will have no trouble roaming off-continent with this device.
I’ve known they were working on this type of solution for awhile, but frankly, I’m surprised that they have it ready to go in the timeframe mentioned in the article.
Verizon [...]

Busy getting ready to move

So we’re deep into the packing phase of moving to our new townhouse.  Its surprising to me how much stuff a person accumulates over the years.  Just things that really don’t add to a person’s goals.
We’ve been purging old office stuff, old furniture, books, etc…  The nice part about the purging effort is that we’ll have [...]
